Ai Li is the owner and director of Brown Music Together. She was born in Malaysia and received her early musical training in the British Royal Schools of Music tradition. At the age of seventeen, she obtained her Performer's Licentiate Diploma from Trinity School of Music, London and soon after received a scholarship to study piano in the United States. She graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with both piano performance and piano pedagogy degrees, where she studied with Alfred Mouledous and Sam Holland. She then went on to complete her Master of Music degree there as well. Upon graduation, she became a faculty member at Dallas Music, the largest private music school in the Dallas area. There she taught private and group piano classes, general music classes for toddlers, and she was also the pianist for the Suzuki flute program. Ai Li is an experienced chamber recitalist, playing mainly with flutists and string players. She is also a Level III Orff-Schulwerk certified instructor. She is extremely dedicated to early childhood music education and simply loves working with young children. Ai Li received her Music Together training under Lynn Ransom in Columbus, Ohio in the Fall of 2004 and is now a registered Music Together teacher and director of Brown Music Together.
Besides teaching Music Together, she also teaches Orff-Schulwerk music and movement classes to 3-6 year olds and private piano lessons at the Summit Country Day School. Ai Li has two children herself  and when she is not teaching or at the piano she enjoys running, taking ballet class and the outdoors where she loves spending time in the woods with her family. She also loves to cook, knit and travel overseas.

photo Sarah McCoy

Sarah McCoy has been teaching young music-makers for 27 years in a variety of settings.  She earned her BA in Music from Centre College and her Master of Education from Xavier University.  She has also earned her Orff-Schulwerk certification, Levels I-III, from University of Nevada at Las Vegas.  It was during that training that she discovered the power of exploration, experience, and improvisation in teaching music to children of all ages and abilities.  She has taught general music classes in both public and private schools, preschools, as well as for homeschooled children.  She is currently teaching at Mercy Montessori Center.  She also has extensive experience as a church pianist, cantor, and choir director for children through adults since 1999 and has been teaching private piano since 2007. Sarah was first introduced to the Music Together program in 2006, when she took classes with her toddler son and newborn daughter.  The playfulness and variety of instrumental and motor activities in each class inspired her own teaching of young children.  She completed her Music Together teacher training in 2015 and has been teaching classes since 2016.  Sarah has three children (two young adults and one teenager) and enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, reading, and being a supportive marching band parent.

photo Anne Berg

Anne Berg has been teaching preschool music since 2024. She is certified in both Music Together and Suzuki Early Childhood Education. A classically- and jazz-trained flutist, she graduated from Bowling Green State University after studying with Suzanne Thierry. She has performed as a soloist, as well as part of small, chamber, and large ensembles. She has taught flute privately and in group settings for over 30 years. She has directed both high school and adult level flute choirs, and is a member of two performing flute choirs in the Cincinnati area. Her other musical interests include singing and experiencing music from many different cultures. She has studied Irish flutes, shakuhachi, bodhran, and gamelan. Her very favorite, though, is playing trios and duets with her sons: a violist, a bassist, and a cellist.

Outside of music, you’ll find Anne trying new recipes, taking bike rides, reading, and knitting. She loves spending time with her husband and three sons, getting together with friends to play games and talk about books, and seeking out the best coffee shops in Cincinnati.
